Google’s DeepMind CEO… who also got a Nobel Prize… has some good advice to give about AI and the future of college education.
Demis Hassabis “predicts AI will create “new very valuable jobs” over the next 5 to 10 years, particularly benefiting “technically savvy people.” The prediction is that whether or not people are using AI as a tool will make a big difference in whether or not they will have a decent job in 10 years. I feel that this is quite a reasonable guess.
Please keep this in mind for those of you who are currently undergraduates, as well as for parents of children of that generation. The landscape of work in developed countries will change more than we realize.
I, too, have fallen behind this semester, but with the research break before the next semester, I plan to catch up to the forefront and make some major changes to my teaching structure.

是非とも、いま大学学部前後の皆さんも、その世代を子供に持つ親御さんたちも、心に留めておいてください。私たちが思ってる以上に 、先進国における仕事のランドスケープが大きく変わります。
私も今学期は遅れを取りましたが、来学期に入る前の研究ブレイクで、一気に最前線に追いついて、大きく自分の授業構成を変更しようと企んでいます。
